OPT & STEM Program for All F-1 Students Who Want to Train in the United States for up to 29 Months!

As an international student in the United States you have the opportunity to extend your stay in the country for 12 months within the frame of an Optional Practical Training (OPT). This means, that you can work in a field directly related to your studies after graduation. As part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program this experience can even get extended by additional 17 months! It is a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity to use your knowledge and gain valuable experience in the American business place!

You may apply for authorization if you:

	Have a valid F-1 visa at the time of application,
	Currently are a student who has completed at least one academic year OR a student nearing the graduation with a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree,
	Intend to work in a field that is directly related to your academic major,
	You are currently completing an OPT and your academic major is an accepted educational STEM-program

1. The Position

2. Help with All Organizational Aspects

InternScout will support you with all organizational aspects such as contracts or job descriptions. In order to save you the time and hassle of drafting important training contracts, we will provide you with pre-organized contracts. Furthermore, we will help you in getting relevant documentation needed to update your SEVIS file.

3. Finding Housing

Finding suitable housing can be a difficult, time-consuming, and frustrating process in any city, but Internscout makes it easy by searching for you! We will work with your preferences, and offer advice and information regarding a variety of different housing options based on price and availability, so that you can make a more informed decision about where to live.

4. Health Insurance

A reliable and trustworthy insurance carrier is a must. If you need to renew your health insurance, or would like to switch to health insurance that is more affordable, we offer comprehensive health insurance for at a very low daily rate! 5. Personal Support During and After Your OPT/ STEM

We work with you throughout the processes of:

	Finding your perfect company and position,
	Obtaining all necessary documents,
	Giving you advice about applicable work requirements.

We will also be available for you and your host company to help with any questions before your OPT or STEM starts and, of course, while you are working. No matter where your position is located, you can always contact your personal InternScout Program Coordinator.

7. Certificate of Participation

Though you will receive a letter of reference from the company when you are completing your OPT or STEM, InternScout will also issue a Certificate of Participation honoring your hard work and progress.

Steps of the Application Process

	Read the general information about OPT/ STEM and our Placement Program. If you are not sure what fields of activity are allowed during your OPT or STEM, please refer to your DSO who can help you determining what your options and opportunities are.
	Contact us with any questions or concerns you may have on our program
	Fill out our registration form, which you can find in our brochure, and send it in to us minimum 3 months before you want to start your OPT or STEM.
	We will call you to discuss your registration and answer all questions you may have.
	Within a week you will receive our application package containing useful application models including resumes and cover letters. Furthermore, we will give you the opportunity to record and upload a video application with our software CVOne for free. InternScout will help you formulate a convincing application.
	You will receive suitable offers from companies and detailed information about your prospective employers that you can prepare for phone interviews. We will schedule the interview for you.
	We will inform you of the company’s decision in order to determine the next steps.
	InternScout will help you to obtain all documentation, so that your DSO can keep your file on SEVIS updated.
	We will be here to help you before, during, and following your OPT or STEM to answer any questions, offer support, and help with any issues that may arise.
